Sustainable seafood can be defined as species that are caught or farmed in a way that ensures the long-term health and stability of that species, as well as the greater marine ecosystem.

West Coast FishCulture, the company that runs the Lois Lake hatchery is considered a leader among fish farms, globally. They are an Oceanwise recommended product and are in the process of being certified by Monterey Bay, which has the most stringent guidelines in north america.
